100 Miles
Also this year runners may extend the run to 100 miles by adding a prologue. The race organisation for this prologue is limited only to course marking and the coordination of crew and resources supplied by the runners.
Participants may use on the last 90 k the resources and aid stations of the 100 k run, the first 70 k will only have self service aid stations with foods and personnel supplied by the runners. 100 mile participants have to sign up for the 100 k run and indicate informally their 100 mile wish.
Regulations for the 100 mile run:
1. Open start, Friday July 10th from 15:00.
2. Each participate should select its departure time in such a fashion as to hit the opening times of the aid stations of the 100 k run at his personal speed. The opening times are shown on the maps of the 100 k course.
3. I offer to coordinate volunteers provided by the runners. Good, car accessible aid locations would be: Hammer (28 k), Adlgass (43 k), Jochberg (53 k), Weissbach (61 k) and Zwing (68 k). Additionally to several springs, I could provide self service aid stations (with water + drop bags) in Hörgering (17 k), Adlgass (43 k)?, Jochberg (62 k, water only) and Weissbach (61 k).
4. The prologue loops N from Ruhpolding over Zinnkopf, Teisenberg, Adlgass, Kohler Alm, Weissbach to Zwing, where you will join the 100 k course close to its k 12. It has easier footing than much of the 100k loop but nevertheless it includes one tough climb with difficult terrain up and down Kohler Alm in the middle of the night and it adds 60k and about 2300 mm of climb to the 100 k course.
5. Course marking is marginal (tape & reflectors at intersections only), each participant should take a map with the course with him.
